T in the Park 2016... Saturday

T on the Saturday was non stop! ( Hence the lack of photos )

Woke up to rain and drizzle but that didn't dampen my mood oh no! However Friday had got to me so it was time for a bit of glitter so hide those eye bags and a tinnie for breakfast to keep spirits high. The first band on in the morning was a 'TBC", intrigued as to who it was gonna be, I made sure I were to catch whoever they were, by this point in the morning wellies where already an essential, so so muddy!!
Walked down to the festival site which seemed like an hours walk ( being a tad over dramatic)

TBC - The Struts

So I'm not going to lie I had never heard of The Struts before but I was pleasantly surprised. With Queen being an obvious influence, the band had really upbeat vibes about them with lead singer Luke Spillar giving us some amazing dance moves in a very impressive outfit that seemed to match his outgoing personality. They later played the T break stage which I missed as TLSP where on at the same time, but I'm sure it was such a great atmosphere for a party.

Jack Garratt

Saturday held a lot of treats, one of the first of them being the mighty Jack Garratt who does not need a write up from me - he is incredible!! Such an amazing solo artist, the way he manages to play drum, synth, keyboard AND Guitar and does it all so flawlessly. I first saw him last summer at the Gentlemen of the Road festival (hosted by the lovely men of Mumford and Sons) where he was just as phenomenal.

He is playing  Glasgow's O2 Academy- Sat 5th of November which I am very excited about!
If you have not yet listened to him... what the hell are you doing with your time?!?!? get on it!!!

Jack Garrat/Fire - T in the Park 2016 <-- there ya go, now check him out!

The Last Shadow Puppets.... WOW

I'm sorry for the lack of photos in this post, but I was having way too much fun to get my phone out. So yeah Alex Turner and Miles Kane back at it again, they were fabulous. So they've been cool before, but the pair have just reached a whole new level, I mean Miles was wearing a white tracksuit and slip ons and Alex was wearing navy and black and they still looked like they could rule the world if they wanted. I love their sound its so... mature!

There new album Everything You've Come to Expect - released this year, 8 years after The Age of Understatement. They have kept the strings going for their second album

Catfish and the Bottlemen

OK, so if you know me personally ( or follow me on social media...) you will know how obsessed I am with these guys, like its bad, I just think they are the best thing since sliced bread, and there seems to be many others that feel the same way; the amount of people I saw walking round in Catfish tops and with inflatable alligators was crazy, I knew it was going to be a busy one!

needed a photo of him on here.. mmm - photo creds to Carrie Davenport

they played Saturday night on the Radio 1 stage just before The 1975. I managed to get to the front which I thought was going to be an impossible task! There set was ace they opened with 'Homesick'. Their set included all the massive tunes from their first album; The Balcony, like 'Kathleen' and 'Cocoon' and also a few from their second album that came out in May of this year; The Ride - including 'Soundcheck', ' Red' and one of my favourites off the album 'Twice'. They seemed to be slightly taken a back by the massive crowd- which they really shouldnt be as they totally deserved it!

They are in Glasgow SECC 4 on the 13th of November and i'm so excited!

heres the link to iplayer to watch the full set :D  Catfish and the Bottlemen - 2016

The 1975

The 1975 were headliners of The Radio 1 stage on the Saturday night. Their stage presence is fabulous they put on a great show and the lights are just beautiful.
So Matty said they chose the setlist simply by choosing their favourite songs they've written which I think is so lovely and also must be such a wholesome feeling being able to do that and not singing what they think people want to see them sing (even though the setlist was perfect and the crowd loved it!)
It included

They have just realised tickets (today!!!) for their UK Tour and they are hitting up Glasgow 19th December for the SSE Hydro which will be a magical gig.

Didn't spend much time at T Break/BBC introducing on the Saturday as there were so many main bands I wanted to see. However, this meant I did miss The Van T's!!

The Van T's- a four piece from West Scotland,  consisting of twins; Chloe and Hannah Van Thompson (hence the name) on vocals and guitars , Joanne Forbes(bass) and Shaun Hood (drums). I had the pleasure in seeing them late March of this year as they supported Catholic Action at Nice n Sleazy in Glasgow, such a great gig and great venue!

I look forward to seeing them again soon!
